What kind of people can demonstrate bravery?A handsome man or a beautiful woman?Being brave is really hard for everyone,because the person who wants to be brave that he or she should has a staunch heart and not feel afraid of death.In both "Sir Gawain and Green Knight"and "The Sniper",the protagonist reveals the personal courage.In each story,brave have an impact of protagonist's life.

In the story " Sir Gawain and the Green knight",Sir Gawain is the bravest knight in a group of brave knights.He also is the protagonist who is the spirit of this story.He didn't feel afraid of death and he is very honest.He uses his life to keep promise.When he faces death he doesn't feel afraid and still keep his promise although others are scared.He also shows his confidence in front of all the people in the castle.For instance,when the Sir Gawain said at castle,"I will strike your laughing head from your body"he demonstrates his confidence to his laughter.He is not scared further he is really confident because when others are timid to come out he comes out and counter to the antagonist Green Knight.Anyway,he is a knight who is courageous.In the other hand,Sir Gawain also showed he was honest and brave.By saying"But I also make a promise so I must go",when he notices maybe he will die,he still want to face to the Green Knight.The suspense of his own is bad,but he still keeping going.The word "must" shows his resolution and daring.Because of his promise he didn't fear of the death and he proved to all the people that he is brave and upstanding.Consequently,he gets the courage of the Green Knight in the end.

In the story "The Sniper",the Republican Sniper demonstrates bravery.He has courage to take the risk when the enemy is around him.He reveals his bravery by challenging himself.For instance,"He decided to take the risk",when he knew the enemies were watching he could be shot.The risk is not a real risk because he just wants to risk smoke.Nevertheless,"risk" still can reveals the protagonist's bravery.In a dangerous setting,the machine guns and rifles change the quiet situation of the night but he didn't feel afraid of.Thus,he demonstrates bravery.This risk comes from his life,so that he can reveal he can take the risk for his job,too.In the other hand,he also can endure the pain of his wound.His right forearm was injured by the antagonist,but he didn't give up he still kept doing his duty.For example,"The distance was about forty-five metres-a hard shot in the dim light,and his arm was paining him like a thousand angry knives",when he did his job.However,he didn't despair with his life and he was desperate.Thus,it shows he has an indomitable spirit. "Thousand angry knives"is the simile that not only demonstrates his pain but also reveals his bravery.This part is the climax of this story so the writer wants to tell the audience that the sniper's courage.All in all,being brave is a characteristic of the sniper,he is a real hero who doesn't feel afraid of death and sustain all the bad experiences that happened to him.

Brave really have an impact on people' s life,like the Sniper and Sir Gawain.Both of them had many troubles in their lifes.Brave heart helps them to defeat all the challenge,They use their life to demonstrate brave is great and show how the courage helps them to live.
